Short Bio
Pietro
Garibaldi is currently
Professor of Economics at the University of Torino, and
Director of the Allievi Program and Fellow of the Collegio Carlo
Alberto. He is also director of the think tank LTI@Unito.
He holds a PhD in Economics from
the London School of Economics.
He is also a research fellow of CEPR (London),
IZA (Bonn), and head of Labor Studies
at Fondazione Debenedetti. He is chairman of VisitInps
Program, a research initiative launched
by the Italian Social Security Administration in 2015.
He was a supervisory board member of Intesa
SanPaolo between 2007 and 2016 and Vice Chariman
in 2012-2013. He is one of the founding and current
editors of www.lavoce.info Between 2004 and 2005
he was the Economic Counselor of the Italian Ministry of
Finance. He was previously an
economist in the IMF Research Department and an associate
professor of Economics at Universita' Bocconi
(Milan).
His main research
interests are in the macroeconomics of the labor market,
with particular emphasis on institutions and labor finance
interactions. His main publications are in the American Economic
Review, Review of Economic Studies, Economic
Journal, European Economic Review, Journal of the
European Economic Association, Review of Economic
Dynamics and Journal of Public Economics.
He is also author and editor of books published by
Oxford University Press.
